       Aaj hum padenge hindi Kavita      गुलमोहर  का  पेड़  गुलमोहर  का  पेड़  लगाया   है  मैंने  जो  आँगन  में ।              नन्हा - सा लाए  थे  पापा             इसको  मेरे  जन्म - दिवस  पर ,            पाला  - पोसा  मैंने  इसको             पानी - खाद  दिया  था  जमकर ।  अब  मुझसे भी  बड़ा  हो  गया  देखो  यह  आनन - फानन  में !           बड़े  मज़े  से  अब  मैं  इसकी           शाखाओं  पर  चढ़  सकता  हूँ ,          घंटों - घंटों  इसकी  शीतल           छाया  में  पढ़  सकता  हूँ ।  चांहूँ  तो  बाँहों  में इसकी  झूला  झूलूँ  मैं  सावन  में । 

          जी  होता  चिड़िया  बन  जाऊँ  जी होता , चिड़िया  बन  जाऊँ  मैं नभ  में  उड़कर  सुख  पाऊँ ।                मैं  फुदक - फुदककर  डाली पर ,               डोलूँ  तरु  की  हरियाली  पर ,              फिर  कुतर - कुतरकर  फल  खाऊँ ,              जी होता  , चिड़िया  बन  जाऊँ ।  जंगल - जंगल  में  उड़  विचरूँ , पर्वत  , घाटी  की सैर  करूँ , सब  जग को  देखूँ  इठलाऊँ , जी  होता , चिड़िया  बन  जाऊँ ।                           कितना  स्वतंत्र  इनका  जीवन  !              इनको  न  कहीं  कोई  बंधन ।               मैं  भी  इनका  जीवन  पाऊँ ,              जी  होता  , चिड़िया  बन  जाऊँ ।
