Air
Air is all around us but we cannot see it. We can feel the air when it moves.
Take a newspaper and fan your face with it .You will feel air moving across your face. Moving air is called wind. When air moves gently ,it is called breeze.
Very fast moving air is called Strom. On a windy day , you will find the branches of tree bending and dry leaves flying about.
AIR OCCUPIES SPACE
A bag which has more sand looks bigger. This is because the sand has taken up space inside the bag and made it bulge.
In the same way , air also takes up space. When you blow air into a balloon, the balloon becomes bigger. This shows that air occupies space.
WHAT IS AIR MADE UP OF ?
Air is made up of different gasses , water vapour and dust. It also has very small living things.
USES OF AIR
. All living things need air to live.
. We fill air in balloons , football and cycle tyres.
. We need air to fly kites and sail boats.
CLEAN AIR
Clean air does not have any colour or smell. Plants and animals need clean air to live. Clean air keeps us healthy.
Smoke from cars , buses and factories makes air dirty. The smoke from fireworks also makes air unclean.
Unclean air can make us sick. Its also harms animals and plants.
