TIT FOR TAT
Once, a crane and a fox were good friends .
One day , the fox invited the crane to his home
for eating kheer. The crane accepted his
invitation and agreed to visit him. The crane
reached the house of fox in the evening .The fox
welcomed him. They gossiped for some time
then the fox served him the kheer in a plate.
He sat on the one side and the fox on the
other side . Seeing this the crane was
surprised . Since his beak was long , he could
not eat the kheer.
But the fox kept on saying ," Hey ! Why do not
you eat ? Feel at home and start eating," and
the fox quickly finished the kheer . The crane
realized that the fox made him a fool . He
also invited the fox for the kheer at his house
next day . The fox accepted his invitation
happily . Next day, the fox reached the crane's
home at the fixed time . The crane served the
kheer in a flagon ( a long neck pitcher ) . The
long beak of the crane was good enough to
reach the kheer in the flagon but the mouth
of the fox could not reach in it .The fox only
licked the kheer around the neck of the flagon
dropped from the beak of the crane . The
crane finished the kheer quickly.
The crane asked the fox," How did you like the
kheer? " The fox nodded his head slowly . He
said goodbye to the crane and came back to the
house. He had to go to bed hungry that day.
This is how the crane taught a lesson to the
cunning fox.
Moral : Sometimes tit for tat is necessary in life.
