              THE GRAPES ARE SOUR


 There was a wixen named Manaki. She was

 wayward by nature . She used to roam about

 here and there all the time . She was very

 moody . She remained lost in herself . Once,

 Manaki was passing through the forest . She

 happened to see the bunches of grapes

 hanging along the creeper . Seeing the grapes

 her mouth began to water . She thanked her

 luck and decided to pluck the grapes .


 And she started to jump to reach the grapes .

 But the grapes were out of her reach. They

 were too high to be even touched by her. She

 said to herself," Let me try better ," and she

 jumped again with all her might , but in vain.


 However , she did not give in and kept on

 jumping up to reach the grapes. But all her

 efforts proved a failure to reach the grapes.

 soon her constant jumping tired her badly and

 she sat down to take rest.


 Then looking at the juicy grapes . She said to

herself , " Manaki , leave the grapes . You are

 making useless efforts for them . They are not

 sweet as you think but sour . Thinking so , the

 fox went away.



 Moral : We should not be greedy.
