* In a village a rich merchant lived with his seven sons.
The sons used to quarrel with each other.
* One day, the merchant called his all sons to him.By his
side lay a bundle of sticks.
* "You are proud of your power. Are't you? I want to see
your strength,"said the merchant lifting up the bundle
of sticks.
* "We indeed are powerful, father. You can give us a test,"
a son claimed proudly.
* The father challenged,"Alright. Break this bundle of
sticks."
* The eldest one tried a lot but failed to break it.
* "Try rest of you one by one," merchant said to the
other sons.
* Other's tried their best , but none could break the
bundle.
* "Now untie the bundle and break each stick separately.
the merchant spoke.
* This time all the brothers easily broke the sticks. The
father reasoned,"Look,if you fall apart quarreling any
one will break you."
