2nd GRADE : LIVE AND LET LIVE ( Life's Mantra ) : PRAYER AND YOGA

                            Chinki Learns to pray !

( Dadi finishes saying her morning prayers and talks to

        chinki )

Dadi      :   Chinki, you should pray everyday, my dear.

Chinki   :   Should I pray every morning, Dadi ?

Granny  :   You can pray any time.

Chinki    :   Then tell me , what should I do if I want to pray

                    in the morning?

Granny   :  Take a bath before you do prayers . You can stand

in a pooja room and say a prayer . Ask God to help

you to have a good day.

Chinki    :   I say prayer in my school assembly every morning.

Granny   :   That is very good. You know , you can also pray

before you eat your meals. You can fold your

hands and thank God for giving you meals.

Chinki    :   Dadi, but you pray every morning and evening !

Dadi       :   Yes, I like to pray in the evening too. You can pray

in the evening with me if you want.

Chinki   :    You know, my friend prays at night ?

Dadi       :    Chinki , many   people say a prayer before they go

to sleep. They kneel on the side of the bed and fold

their hands and say a prayer. This way thay thank

God for giving them a good day.

Chinki    :    Does God always listen to our prayers?

Dadi        :   Yes , God always listens to our  prayers. It is a good

idea to thank God for giving us loving parents, toys,

food, clothes and so many other things.

                (Grandmother walks towards the door)

Chinki     :   Where are you going ?

Dadi        :   I am going outside to pray to the Sun God.

Chinki     :   Can I also come ?

Dadi         :   Come along , Chinki.
