Once upon a time , a lovely traveller came to a small lake.
There he saw a crowd of people. Men and women, boys and
girls ,all had gathered near the lake . Everybody was greatly
excited. Everyone had something in his or her hand - rakes,
spades or ropes.
"What is happening here ?" the traveller asked an old man.
"The moon is drowning in the lake , and we are trying to save
it," said the old man.
The traveller stood there and watched the people trying to fish
the moon out of the lake. "Here it is ," shouted one tall man.
"No, it is over here,"shouted a short fat woman.
"Can't you see?" called a boy several feet away."The moon is
over here."
They were shouting from every direction. Soon there was a
terrible quarrel.
Finally, a little girl pointing upward and said loudly,"Look,
there is the moon up there."
The traveller said to himself ,"How silly they are! and went on
his way.
